Accessibility Statement
I am committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. This website strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.
1. Built-in Accessibility Features
This website includes a dedicated Accessibility Panel accessible via the floating accessibility button (wheelchair symbol) in the bottom-right corner:
- Text Scaling: Switch between Normal, Large (112.5%), and Extra Large (125%) base typography.
- High Contrast Mode: Enhances border lines, element boundaries, and text legibility in both light and dark themes.
- Enhanced Reading Spacing: Increases letter-spacing, word-spacing, and line height to assist visitors with dyslexia or visual processing differences.
- Reduce Motion: Instantly pauses background canvas animations and disables CSS transitions for visitors with vestibular sensitivities.
- Link & Focus Highlighting: Outlines and underlines all interactive buttons and links with high-visibility accent rings.
2. Technical Specifications & Usability
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive components are fully focusable with visible focus rings (
:focus-visible). - Semantic Structure: Built with standard HTML5 semantic elements (
header, main, section, footer, proper heading hierarchy). - Responsive Layout: Fluidly scales across all screen sizes without loss of content or functionality.
- Screen Reader Compatibility: Includes appropriate ARIA landmarks, modal dialog roles, and descriptive alternative text for non-decorative media.
3. Continuous Improvement & Feedback
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact me directly at [email protected]. I take accessibility feedback seriously and will make reasonable accommodations.
